Edith Makes a Paperchain was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado and has been named 'Best Folk Band' in Colorado Springs by the Independent newspaper (2011 and 2012). Edith Makes a Paperchain was the winner of the 2009 Pikes Peak Arts Council Award for Excellence in the Arts in the Popular Music category and has been described as gypsy folk, indie rock, power pop and haunted circus music. A whimsical, folie a six mostly acoustic instruments that combine to create a sort of gypsy, folk, pop sound. The music of Edith often inspires waltzing, laughter and a sense of curiosity, mystery, and merriment.
Miette Hope is a Brooklyn-based singer-songwriter and producer from Colorado Springs, CO. Growing up in a musical family, she started her music career playing in her family’s local band, Edith Makes a Paperchain. After graduating from Palmer High School, Miette attended Berklee College of Music on a full scholarship from Vans Off the Wall, earning a double major in music business and songwriting.
Now based in NYC, Miette balances her solo career with producing and writing for other artists, as well as composing music for TV, film, and ads. She’s passionate about collaboration and often organizes writing camps and networking events to support the NYC music scene.
Her self produced music is best known for its emotionally poetic lyrics and left of center edge with a unique combination of organic and synthetic sounds. Her track “Enough,” described by MTV News as a “haunting inward journey” through grief, exemplifies her unique pop sensibility and emotional depth.
